Depois do último arco publicado 
no volume anterior de FABLES pela editora Panini, já mais de um poderia imaginar a identidade do grande ADVERSRÁRIO. Eu particularmente que não sou adapto de ler scans, pensava as vezes se não valeria a pena dar uma olhada nos números já lançados lá fora pois a identidade do misterioso inimigo suscitava mirabolantes teorias. Ao longo das edições anteriores varias pistas foram deixadas pelo autor (Bill willingham entra definitivamente para o panteão dos grandes argumentistas) sobre quem seria o grande responsável por tudo de ruim que aconteceu no reino das 
fabulas. Neste arco, o sexto , finalmente é revelado á todos nós leitores ávidos por aventura, fantasia, batalhas heróicas, o nome do hediondo inimigo. Um jovem herói enfrenta sua maior jornada dentro das chamadas TERRAS NATAIS para levar a justiça ao grande inimigo. No coração do território do Adversário, toda a história por trás da grande invasão das terras das fábulas é contada e em meio a surpresas impensáveis, surge uma “nova” personagem que irá ter uma participação importante nos próximos eventos de Fábulas.
Em meio a tudo isto, na cidade das fábulas muitas coisas importantes também estão acontecendo. Um traidor é descoberto, uma fábula retorna ao lar e outra deixa a cidade para se aventurar no mundo dos homens em busca de fama, fortuna e imortalidade.
